2008北京国际网球节网球吉祥物“坦尼斯”的故事
很久以前，在风情万种的花都法国，非常厌倦枯燥教堂生活的传教士们，在闲暇时用一小块布包着头发做成一个小球，兴致勃勃地跑到教堂的回廊里，他们三三俩俩的玩着，教堂顿时变的热闹起来。一天，国王知道了这事，找到了这些传教士，“听说你们做了一种很好玩的小球，快跟我说说怎么玩？” “哦，亲爱的陛下！方法很简单：二或四个人在一片空地上，隔一条绳子，用手掌将小球打来打去”。国王听后很兴奋，立刻命令侍卫在皇宫的花园里开辟了一块空地和大家玩起来。不久，这种游戏被传到了世界各地。更多的人都喜欢上了这个游戏，取名为“tennis”，这就是今天网球坦尼斯的由来。
可见我——小精灵坦尼斯“Tannis”都始终传递着快乐，希望在2008北京国际网球节上，我能带给朋友们更多的健康和快乐！
A tale of the tennis fairy “Tannis”
Long long time ago in France, there were few bored monks began playing a crude handball against the monastery walls, or over a rope strung across a courtyard. As the game became more popular, courtyard playing areas began to be modified into indoor courts, where the ball was still played off the walls. One day, the king of France sent his men and learned the game from the monks, he was attracted by this interesting game. Later, the game spread to England and all over the world. People named this game “tennis”.
